Yarn Along {Irish Scarf and A Pride and Prejudice spin off}

This week I am joining the yarn along over at Small Things!
I've gotten back into the crocheting mood lately, after discovering a delightful little yarn shop in Tucson and visiting it several times, as well as getting together with some lovely lady friends and knitting and crocheting over a pot of tea. There is nothing like chatting and crocheting with friends on a winter day with a warm Linkcup of tea to sip.

This week I am working on my "Irish pride" scarf - a skinny scarf in the colors of the Irish flag.So far I just have the green stripe, I am just about finished, maybe another five inches on this last row, and then I will go onto the white stripe.
I am reading a book called the Darcy Cousins by Monica Fairview. I really enjoyed the prequel to it - The Other Mr. Darcy which is a spin off of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I'm not sure if I like this one yet, and I'm half way through. I don't dislike it, but I'm just not sure if I like it yet, if that makes any sense at all - but I am withholding further judgement until I complete the book. I don't really read fan sequels, I'm too much a purist, but I did enjoy the Other Mr. Darcy a lot, and I hope this one turns out as enjoyable!

Thanks for stopping by,
~Elissa

Crochet is my first love. I will have to check out the prequel to Mr Darcy...I adore Jane Austin. Thanks for sharing, Tricia@CrunchyCatholicMomma.blogspot

What a beautiful green! I know the feeling, when you find a yarn shop that you just love...and want to relax with a cup of tea and a good book...or some yarn and a crochet hook!!!

I am an avid knitter who keeps trying to learn to crochet, with limited success. I keep trusting that one of these days, it will "click." I love the scarf idea -- have fun adding those other two colors!

I don't know if I could handle a different darcy! I'll have to check that one out though:)
This inspires me to go do a little crochet again...i've been learning how to knit after years of crocheting, and I do miss it!

I adore P&P and there are some great spin-offs out there (and also some groanworthy ones). I'll have to add these to my list to check out (and you haven't read Elizabeth Aston's Mr. Darcy's Daughters, I highly recommend it!).

The same shade of beautiful green that your are working with is worn by a young girl in one of my knitting books. It is an Aran pullover. It would be a challenge I may not be up to as yet - to do all its three kinds of cables.
What a charming color.
