Cross~stitch pictures

Ladybugs and Bumblebees by Country Cottage Needleworks

(All the pictures are clickable)

These are few pictures that I have finished over the last little while. One of them I finished in 2003 but I just had framed this summer. I really enjoy cross stitching. It is very relaxing to me. I started cross stitching in 1989. Steve was TDY and I was staying with my mom and she taught me. I really like to stitch gifts for friends. I have taught Elissa how to stitch and we enjoy stitching together.

A House that Love Built by Paula Vaughan. This is the one I finished in 2003. I love the name of this one! I have several of her porch scenes that I am planning to stitch.

Sewing caddy

I recently made these sewing caddies for me and Elissa. They were super easy and they have been so nice to have.

This one is mine.

This one is Elissa's.

Projects I am working on..

Here are a few projects that I am working on, depending on what part of the house I am in and what I feel like working on at the time. ;o)

This is a cross-stitch sampler called In the Garden with Jane Austen. The directions call to have it made into a bag, but I am going to have it framed.

This is a Crabapple Hill pattern called Journal Rose. It was one of the patterns I bought with my Christmas gift card from there. I am making it into a pillow for my bedroom.

This is a cross stitch that I have been working on for years! It is an old Paula Vaughan pattern called Tea, Roses and Romance. I am about 2/3 of the way done. There is still a tea cup, a tea pot and a few flowers to go. You can see a picture of my new needle minder up in the right hand corner.

I am making a doily for our tea times. It will be a small one that will fit on my silver tray.

Tea towels

Here are a few tea towels that I made last fall. I love the first one with the cupcake! ;o)

This one is #7 in a series called The Twelve Days of Christmas from Crab Apple Hill. I finished most of the series, but this is the only one I put trim on. The trim is vintage rickrack that I found at an elderly ladies yard sale. The original price for the trim was 13 cents. ;o)

Recipe Box and dividers

I have been wanting a new recipe file for awhile and when I saw this box at JoAnn's, I knew it was what I wanted. The box was originally silver and I painted it Heirloom White. I added the decoration on the front. "Recipes" was stamped to match my kitchen and I added the flower. I used my recipe stamp set to make some dividers. I really like it and I have been making some recipe cards to add to my collection.

Dividers.

New cushions

I painted my wicker chairs and made two new cushions and a new pillow. I need to make a pillow for my other chair. My chairs were looking way more shabby than chic! I love how they turned out! ;o) I also painted my little table that sits between the chairs, I will try to get a picture of the porch later and update this post.

Edited: Here is a picture of my second chair and the porch. Also, there is a picture of the back side of the second pillow. I didn't have quite enough fabric to make the stripes go the same way, and since I am 2 hours from JoAnn's, I improvised! ;o)

Snowman Throw

I blanket stitched this fleece throw back in early November. This throw is 2 1/2 yds and I rounded the corners and used green crochet thread to do my blanket stitching. This was the first time that I did blanket stitching.
